Job Description

Maintain and optimize the performance of a 15GB MySQL database (plus various archive databases). Ensure that proper backups and maintenance are done and that various test environments are kept current with copies from the live environment. Work with programmers to help them optimize their queries. Purge obsolete data as required.
Desired Candidate Profile

The person we are looking for will have extensive experience with administering MySQL or Oracle or DB2 or PostgreSQL and be skilled at maintaining and optimizing the database. In addition, this person will be skilled at working with programmers to optimize SQL queries. This person will be experienced with stored procedures and with making sure that normal safeguards are taken care of to be sure that we can recover from any problem.
